CTC offers free testing for English as a second language program

Central Texas College (CTC) will offer a free Comprehensive English Language Test (CELT) for anyone wishing to enroll in the English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) Program. The training program is available for international students and non-English speaking members of the local community.

The ESL is a 14-course program divided into beginning, intermediate and advanced level courses which students take over three academic terms. The CELT covers listening, grammar, writing and vocabulary for appropriate placement into required ESL courses. This individualized course placement ensures students do not waste time taking courses they do not need. The ESL program includes courses in grammar, writing, reading, listening and speaking.

The next CELT will be offered August 18 and again on August 20 in the Engineering Arts and Technology Building (Bldg. 101) Room 8 on the Killeen campus starting at 8 a.m. Subsequent test dates for the fall are August 22, September 26, October 24 and December 5. Test site for these dates is the Systems Services Building (Bldg. 111), Room 224 and start time for each is 8 a.m.
